What is Global Votes’ Reason for Being?
Global Votes is a project born out of a belief that this planet should be a much fairer, freer and friendlier place to live on. This world is now changing at a rapidly increasing pace - such that the institutions and systems that have served humanity well for years and possibly even millennia are fast becoming obsolete. Our governments and other governing bodies are looking more and more like lumbering dinosaurs that are trying to fit new ideas and concepts into old 20th century structures that are neither appropriate nor efficient in the 21st century global community.
We at Global Votes are not alone in these realisations, as billions of blogs and bulletins will verify. But despite much of humanity’s general dissatisfaction about the way things are, it seems that most of us have fears and resistance when it comes to change, even when the change may be for the better. These fears are there for a reason - they make us carefully examine the possibilities and pitfalls that change brings. The increasing pace of change however no longer gives us the luxury of the lengthy and inefficient examinations of current governmental structures, and we feel that it’s more productive and more fun to explore the possibilities rather than spend time worrying about the potential pitfalls.
Global Votes is therefore a possibility realised – a way of efficiently bringing together the shared wishes, feelings and ideas of people all around the world – inspiring us all to create a better reality for ourselves and for the generations to follow. In spite of mainstream media perpetuated pessimism we believe that there is a very good chance that if humanity begins to wake up to itself as a species and work together rather than in competition, we can surf the wave of change rather than be dumped in its wake!
